Job Description

Personal Injury Law Clerk

Location: Greater Toronto Area (Hybrid)

Compensation: $70,000-95,000

Our client, a well-established law firm in the Greater Toronto Area, is seeking a Personal Injury Law Clerk to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about supporting clients through complex personal injury matters.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing files from inception through resolution, supporting counsel on litigation matters, and ensuring clients receive exceptional service throughout the legal process.

Key Responsibilities

Manage plaintiff personal injury files, including Accident Benefits and Tort matters.
Draft and prepare legal documents, pleadings, correspondence, affidavits, mediation briefs, settlement materials, and other litigation-related documentation.
Coordinate and maintain production of medical records, expert reports, and financial documentation.
Prepare undertakings, refusals charts, chronologies, and litigation summaries.
Schedule and coordinate examinations for discovery, mediations, arbitrations, independent medical examinations, and court appearances.
Maintain regular communication with clients, experts, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel.
Review and organize documentary evidence to support litigation strategy.
Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and procedural requirements.
Assist lawyers with file progression, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.

Qualifications

Law Clerk diploma or equivalent legal education.
3+ years of experience in Personal Injury Law, including Tort and Accident Benefits matters.
Strong understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure and applicable personal injury processes.
Experience drafting litigation and settlement documentation.
Proficiency with legal software, document management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Professional, client-focused, and highly detail-oriented.
