Job Description

As a Database Administrator for Oracle DBA at L2 level, your role involves managing Database operation teams/projects with a focus on service transition and supportability of solutions in a Production environment. Your responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrating experience in delivering Database operation teams/projects, specifically in Oracle DB and MySQL, with an understanding of SQL Server administration
  • Managing technical teams effectively and efficiently
  • Ensuring availability, security, and integrity of assigned databases
  • Resolving database performance, capacity, replication, and other distributed data issues
  • Installing, patching, and maintaining all Oracle software, including RAC and Data Guard configurations
  • Developing and implementing database maintenance plans, updating statistics, and monitoring security and hardware resource utilization
  • Participating in data modeling and database design, analyzing performance trends, and optimizing database and application performance
  • Configuring database servers to work with middleware, web servers, and OLAP tools
  • Designing and implementing backup & recovery systems, with extensive hands-on experience in various RMAN Backup and Recovery Scenarios
  • Provisioning and decommissioning databases, including Instance/RAC/ASM/grid control/data guard setups
  • Collaborating with teams to gather and share business requirements, ensuring effective and efficient solutions are developed and implemented
  • Resolving complex problems and making decisions, exploring alternatives outside familiar approaches
  • Developing logical plans to meet objectives, focusing on efficiency and effectiveness
  • Maintaining clear and concise written and oral communication, keeping stakeholders informed of work progression
  • Engaging with vendors and third parties as needed and ensuring good documentation practices

Additionally, it would be beneficial if you have infrastructure knowledge on Data Center towers, good communication skills for conveying the impact of major incidents to the business, and strong problem analysis and design capabilities.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Providing DBA L2 Operations Support
  • Implementing DR solutions and contributing to build efforts
  • Designing and Architecting database solutions
  • Collaborating closely with Project Managers for DR assignments and demonstrating strong implementation skills

This role requires a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in Oracle database administration, with a focus on operational acceptance, disaster recovery, and high availability in a Production environment. Your expertise in Oracle RAC, Change Management, Incident Management, and Release and Configuration management processes will be crucial for success in this role.
