Job Description
Role: Financial business analyst with Capital Markets
Capital Markets is required

Position Overview:
- Client is seeking a Financial Business Analyst to bridge business needs and technology solutions within client’s Finance organization.
- The ideal candidate will analyze business processes, gather and document requirements, support financial reporting initiatives, and collaborate with stakeholders to improve operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
- The Financial Business Analyst will work closely with Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Technology, and external partners to support strategic initiatives, regulatory reporting, process improvements, and system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis and Requirements Management:
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications and user stories.
- Conduct gap analyses and identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and requirements sessions with cross-functional teams.
- Maintain requirements traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze financial data to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Develop reports, dashboards, and metrics to track key business performance indicators.
- Support month-end and quarter-end reporting activities.
- Validate financial data accuracy and integrity across systems.
Data Analysis and Process Improvement:
- Perform data analysis using SQL, Excel, and reporting tools.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data interpretation.
- Recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency and control effectiveness.
- Support automation and digital transformation initiatives.
Project Support:
- Participate in Agile and Waterfall project environments.
- Collaborate with project managers, developers, testers, and business stakeholders.
- Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect management, and solution validation.
- Support implementation and post-production activities.
Regulatory and Risk Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with client policies, financial regulations, and internal controls.
- Support audit requests and regulatory reporting initiatives.
- Document business processes and control procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor''s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
- 3 to 7 plus years of experience as a Business Analyst, Financial Analyst, or Financial Business Analyst.
- Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with SQL for data analysis and validation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within financial services, mortgage, banking, or capital markets industries.
- Knowledge of client, Fannie Mae, or GSE operations.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other BI tools.
- Understanding of data governance and data quality practices.
- CBAP, PMI-PBA, CFA, CPA, or related certifications preferred.
