Job Title: Database Administrator (DBA) – Microsoft OLAP Specialist (Remote)Location: RemoteExperience Level: Mid-Senior (6+ years)Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with deep expertise in Microsoft OLAP model design, architecture, and maintenance. This role will be responsible for building scalable analytical solutions, optimizing performance, and ensuring the reliability of enterprise data systems in a remote environment.Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Microsoft OLAP cubes and tabular models using SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
- Architect scalable and high-performance data models to support business intelligence and analytics needs
- Optimize query performance and troubleshoot issues related to OLAP models and data processing
- Manage and maintain SQL Server databases, ensuring data integrity, availability, and security
- Implement and monitor ETL processes and data pipelines
- Collaborate with BI developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Perform regular system maintenance, backups, and disaster recovery planning
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for improvement
- Document architecture, processes, and best practices
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
- Proven expertise in building and maintaining OLAP cubes (Multidimensional and/or Tabular models)
- Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts (star schema, snowflake schema, fact/dimension design)
- Experience with performance tuning and query optimization
- Proficiency in T-SQL and database design
- Experience with ETL tools such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) or equivalent
- Familiarity with Power BI or other reporting tools
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage priorities effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate
- (or equivalent SQL Server/BI certifications)
- Experience with Azure Analysis Services or Power BI Premium datasets
- Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and hybrid architectures
- Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell or similar)
