Staff Cloud Engineer:

On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Staff Cloud Engineer for a 5-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Staff Cloud Engineer - Job Description:

The project involves designing observability for OSS, which operates on multiple services in Azure Cloud and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role focuses on implementing a Dynatrace Grail-based observability solution to ensure system health and performance.

Staff Cloud Engineer - Responsibilities:

• Design and implement Dynatrace Grail-based observability solutions for OSS
• Ensure consistent visibility into system health, performance, and dependencies
• Design enterprise observability architecture using Dynatrace
• Instrument system code using Dynatrace OneAgent and OpenTelemetry
• Implement observability for Kubernetes clusters and workloads such as GKE in Azure and GCP
• Define standards for logs, metrics, traces, alerting, and SLOs
• Automate observability onboarding using Terraform Cloud and CI/CD pipelines
• Mentor engineers on observability best practices using Dynatrace Grail

Staff Cloud Engineer - Mandatory Skills:

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code
• 5+ years of understanding of observability fundamentals (logs, metrics, traces, topology, SLOs)
• 5+ years of experience operating distributed systems across Azure and GCP
• 3+ years hands-on experience with Dynatrace Grail for large-scale enterprise systems
• 3+ years of experience with OpenTelemetry

Staff Cloud Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience in regulated or financial services environments
• Prior technical leadership or mentorship experience
• 5+ years of Kubernetes observability experience, preferably GKE
• 5+ years of strong Linux, Terraform (HCL)

Staff Cloud Engineer – Assignment Length:

This is a contract position until October 31, 2026, with the possibility of extension.
