Senior Developer – Cloud Migration

Cloud/Data Migration Engineer:

On behalf of our financial services client, Procom is searching for a Cloud/Data Migration Engineer for a 12 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Cloud/Data Migration Engineer - Job Description:

This role involves supporting the migration of the Capital Market Investment Analytics (CMIA) team’s assets to Snowflake and Azure Cloud enterprise platforms. The project focuses on migrating existing data pipelines and ETL processes to enhance the team's systematic investment process infrastructure.

Cloud/Data Migration Engineer - Responsibilities:

• Develop a Data and Cloud migration framework to accelerate the migration of the CMIA team’s assets to client’s platforms
• Assist with the migration of the CMIA team’s assets to Cloud platforms
• Emphasize migrating CMIA Data Pipelines and ETL processes
• Maintain and improve the team's software solutions and infrastructure
• Contribute to the CMIA team’s continuous improvement process and develop best practices and standards
• Develop new solutions and enhance existing solutions for Capital Markets investment desks
• Communicate the status of personal work plans and tasks, and participate in agile ceremonies

Cloud/Data Migration Engineer - Mandatory Skills:

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in a quantitative discipline such as Engineering or Computer Science
• Minimum 5 years of software design/development experience with at least 3 years as a data engineer
• Expertise in migrating Data and Data Engineering assets to cloud platforms
• Experience with Snowflake, Airflow/Astronomer, SQL Server, Oracle
• Expertise in SQL and Python
• Experience with Azure and AKS
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Cloud/Data Migration Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with DBT and SSIS
• Experience with PowerBI
• Experience with common web development frameworks like Streamlit, React, Flask
• Experience using AI models and code assistants for Cloud and Data migration tasks
• Experience in the financial industry, with completion of the Canadian Securities Course or CFA candidacy

This is a contract position until December 24, 2026.
