On behalf of our Technology client, Procom is searching for a Senior Cloud Engineer – AWS (Terraform / Migration) for a 6 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Senior Cloud Engineer – AWS (Terraform / Migration) - Job Description:

The client is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to support a high-impact M&A cloud migration initiative. This role will focus on migrating applications, infrastructure, and data from an acquired company into an AWS multi-region environment. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in Terraform and AWS to ensure a smooth and secure transition.

Senior Cloud Engineer – AWS (Terraform / Migration) - Responsibilities:

• Lead migration of applications and infrastructure into AWS multi-region architecture
• Design and implement infrastructure using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
• Migrate and optimize PostgreSQL and MySQL databases using RDS and AWS DMS
• Refactor legacy workloads into containerized environments (ECS/EKS)
• Design and execute zero-downtime migration strategies and cutover plans
• Manage and optimize AWS networking components (ALB, Route53, CloudFront, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink)
• Ensure high availability and performance for data pipelines, APIs, and ingestion systems
• Support migration and scaling of search and messaging platforms (OpenSearch, RabbitMQ)
• Implement monitoring and observability using Prometheus, Grafana, and AlertManager
• Ensure compliance with security best practices (IAM, encryption, tenant isolation)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve architecture and migration challenges

Senior Cloud Engineer – AWS (Terraform / Migration) - Mandatory Skills:

• 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering or infrastructure roles
• Expert-level knowledge of AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, networking)
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform (advanced level required)
• Experience with large-scale application and data migrations
• Strong experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS)
• Experience with database technologies (PostgreSQL, MySQL, RDS, DMS)
• Strong understanding of cloud networking and architecture

Senior Cloud Engineer – AWS (Terraform / Migration) – Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with OpenSearch / Elasticsearch and RabbitMQ
• Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
• Experience in financial services or regulated environments
• Experience with high-volume, real-time data systems

Senior Cloud Engineer – AWS (Terraform / Migration) – Assignment Length:

This is a 6 month contract position.
