Senior Project Manager (Level 3)
Our public sector client is seeking a Senior Project Manager, L3 to lead complex IT and business transformation initiatives, ensuring project delivery aligns with departmental priorities, governance requirements, and Government of Canada standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage large-scale IT and business transformation projects.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, risk registers, and status reports.
- Coordinate project resources, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Monitor project scope, timelines, costs, and deliverables.
- Facilitate governance meetings and executive briefings.
- Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests.
- Ensure compliance with Government of Canada project management frameworks and policies.
- Provide strategic advice and recommendations to senior management.
- Support procurement, contract management, and vendor coordination activities.
- Produce project documentation, presentations, and performance reporting.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of experience managing complex IT or digital transformation projects.
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-stakeholder initiatives within large organizations.
- Experience developing project governance frameworks, schedules, budgets, and risk management plans.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (PMBOK, Agile, Hybrid, Waterfall).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and executive reporting skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a federal government environment.
- Valid Government of Canada Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP Certification.
- Experience with Government of Canada departments or agencies.
- Experience managing cloud, digital modernization, enterprise application, or infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of Treasury Board policies, project gating, and federal governance processes.
