On behalf of our Technology client, Procom is searching for a Security Engineering & Risk Lead (Zscaler SME) for a 3 month contract role. This position is remote with occasional requirements to be onsite at our client’s Toronto, Ontario office.

Security Engineering & Risk Lead (Zscaler SME) - Job Description:

Our client is seeking a Security Engineering & Risk Lead to support the execution of security architecture and risk management initiatives across the organization. This role involves translating security strategy into practical technical controls and ensuring that security risks are identified, tracked, and effectively mitigated.

Security Engineering & Risk Lead (Zscaler SME) - Responsibilities:

• Design and implement secure architectures across systems, networks, and applications
• Ensure security requirements are incorporated early into technical designs and projects
• Collaborate with enterprise architects and engineering teams to embed security into new and existing initiatives
• Execute risk mitigation initiatives identified through the organization’s cyber risk program
• Act as the internal subject matter expert for Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA)
• Provide design guidance, configuration support, and troubleshooting expertise
• Design and refine security controls related to vulnerability management, identity and access management, incident response, and data protection
• Implement technical controls required to meet compliance and audit standards
• Partner with IT, Network, Security Operations, and Engineering teams on security initiatives

Security Engineering & Risk Lead (Zscaler SME) - Mandatory Skills:

• 8+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, security architecture, or infrastructure security
• Hands-on experience implementing or architecting Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA)
• Experience designing enterprise security controls across infrastructure and applications
• Strong knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST CSF or ISO 27001
• Experience designing secure web gateway and Zero Trust architectures
• Proven ability to collaborate with engineering, network, and compliance teams
• Strong documentation and communication skills

Security Engineering & Risk Lead (Zscaler SME) – Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience in cloud, SaaS, or hybrid enterprise environments
• Familiarity with Fortinet security platforms
• Experience with vulnerability management, incident response, IAM, and data protection
• Experience supporting security audits and regulatory assessments
• Ability to mentor or guide other security engineers
