On behalf of our IT client, Procom is searching for a Microsoft Systems Architect / Senior Infrastructure Engineer for a 3 month, part-time remote role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Microsoft Systems Architect / Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Job Description

The successful candidate will support two infrastructure initiatives within a Microsoft enterprise environment, focusing on architecture, design, and technical planning. The role involves collaborating closely with the internal architecture lead to design scalable, secure solutions and develop deployment strategies, testing approaches, and supporting documentation.

Microsoft Systems Architect / Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Responsibilities

• Design an enterprise approach for managing driver updates through Windows Update
• Develop the architecture and validate the proposed solution
• Support testing of the solution with the internal IT team
• Create a deployment and rollout strategy
• Document architecture, configuration approach, and operational procedures
• Design a passwordless authentication strategy for a Windows environment
• Evaluate authentication options such as Windows Hello for Business, FIDO2, and Entra ID
• Develop a secure and scalable rollout plan
• Document technical architecture and operational guidance
• Assess current requirements for company-wide meeting capabilities
• Evaluate and design potential solutions
• Provide recommendations and supporting design documentation
• Transition the recommended solution to the internal IT team for deployment

Microsoft Systems Architect / Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Mandatory Skills

• Extensive experience designing Windows enterprise infrastructure architectures
• Strong expertise in Windows Update management and driver lifecycle strategies
• Experience designing passwordless authentication solutions (Windows Hello for Business, FIDO2, Entra ID)
• Deep understanding of identity and access management within Microsoft environments
• Proven ability to produce architecture diagrams, rollout plans, and technical documentation
• Experience collaborating with internal engineering teams to guide solution design
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Microsoft Systems Architect / Senior Infrastructure Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience working in large Microsoft enterprise environments
• Familiarity with Entra ID / Azure AD identity services
• Experience supporting security modernization or identity transformation initiatives
• Previous experience in architecture advisory or consulting roles
