On behalf of our Public Sector client, Procom is searching for a Database Developer / DBA-Oracle, SQL and PL/SQL for an 11-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Etobicoke office.

Database Developer / DBA-Oracle, SQL and PL/SQL - Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Database Developer to work on a critical project involving Telecom data models and ETL/DW support. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining database solutions to support enterprise applications, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.

Database Developer / DBA-Oracle, SQL and PL/SQL - Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain database schemas, tables, views, indexes, and stored procedures in ETL application & DW packages.
• Develop and optimize PL/SQL packages, triggers, and functions for Oracle databases.
• Write efficient SQL queries and scripts for data manipulation and reporting.
• Develop programs/packages/procedures/functions in Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL Server databases.
• Implement backup and recovery strategies and ensure data integrity and security.
• Collaborate with application developers and business analysts to support data-driven solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in development, test, and production environments.

Database Developer / DBA-Oracle, SQL and PL/SQL - Mandatory Skills:

• Strong expertise in Oracle Database and PL/SQL programming.
• Proficiency in SQL and query optimization techniques.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and MS SQL Server databases.
• Experience with database performance tuning and indexing strategies.
• Understanding of backup/recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery concepts.
• Familiarity with data modeling and normalization techniques.
• Experience with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.

Database Developer / DBA-Oracle, SQL and PL/SQL – Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Exposure to BI tools and data warehousing concepts (ETL framework).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (GCP).
• Experience in working with Telecom Inventory.

This is an 11-month contract to start.
