Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Professional Medical Coding Trainer with strong expertise in Evaluation & Management (E/M) coding and multi-specialty surgical coding. The role focuses on training fresh graduates and experienced coders, enhancing coding accuracy, compliance, productivity, and readiness for live US healthcare projects.
Roles & Responsibilities
Training & Knowledge Development
- Train fresh graduates on:
- Medical terminology
- Human anatomy and physiology
- Basics of ICD‑10‑CM, CPT®, and HCPCS coding concepts
- Upskill experienced medical coders on:
- Specialty-specific coding guidelines
- Advanced E/M coding (based on latest CMS/AMA updates)
- Modifier application and NCCI edits
- Productivity and quality benchmarks
Specialty Coding Expertise
- Deliver in-depth training on multispecialty surgical coding, including but not limited to:
- General Surgery
- Orthopedics
- Cardiology
- Gastroenterology
- Urology
- ENT
- Obstetrics & Gynecology
- Explain global surgery rules, operative report analysis, bundling, and unbundling concepts
Assessment, Audits & Quality Support
- Conduct coding assessments, mock tests, evaluations, and internal audits
- Analyze audit findings and deliver targeted retraining to improve accuracy and compliance
- Support QA and Operations teams with:
- Retraining initiatives
- Root‑cause analysis
- Issue resolution and process improvement
Content Development & Performance Tracking
- Develop, customize, and update training materials annually based on:
- CPT, ICD‑10‑CM, and HCPCS guideline changes
- Payer-specific and CMS updates
- Track and monitor trainee performance, including:
- Accuracy levels
- Productivity metrics
- Learning progress and improvement trends
- Maintain training documentation and compliance records

Desired Candidate Profile
- Minimum 5+ years experience in Medical Coding
- Prior experience in training, mentoring, or auditing medical coders
- Proven expertise in:
- E/M coding (2021+ guideline-based)
- Multispecialty surgical and professional fee coding
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to handle multiple training batches
- Strong understanding of US healthcare reimbursement, compliance, and payer rules

- Certification pass rates (CPC/CCS)
