Our Hosting team manages and supports the infrastructure of all our platforms, from hardware to software, to operating systems to PowerSchool products. This collaborative team helps meet the needs of an evolving technology and business model with a specialized focus on protecting customer data and keeping information secure.
Description
Responsibilities
A Cloud Operations engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure and services. They ensure the availability, performance, and security of cloud-based applications and resources while monitoring and responding to incidents and issues. This role requires expertise in cloud platforms, automation, and best practices.
Your day-to-day job will consist of:
- Execute ticket triage, investigation and resolution of reported incidents
- Monitor and troubleshoot application issues to ensure high availability, optimal performance and system responsiveness. engage Customer Support as needed.
- Perform daily system administration tasks to verify that all systems are up and running
- Installation and configuration of software in cloud-based environments to ensure high availability
- Complete periodic application software updates and software version upgrades
- Perform root cause analysis for production issues where the root cause is in infrastructure, environment, configuration, or deployment routines; understand when to escalate to product development teams; remediate root causes and implement preventative actions
- Participate in after-hours maintenance when necessary, respond to emergencies, participate in customer calls when called upon in support of initiatives and incident response
- Participate in 24/7 on-call support including shift rotations where required
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- 1 year or less of relevant and related work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
- This is an entry level position; the ideal person needs to be motivated and willing to learn
Preferred Qualifications
- Cloud technology such as Azure, AWS or GCP knowledge and experience are highly desired.
