Senior Research Scientist, Materials Science

Our client, a leading innovator in materials science, is seeking an experienced Senior Research Scientist to join their state-of-the-art laboratory facilities in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, IN . This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead groundbreaking research, develop novel materials, and contribute to the advancement of technology in a collaborative and stimulating environment. You will play a key role in conceptualizing, designing, and executing research projects from inception to completion.

Responsibilities: Lead and manage research projects focused on the development of advanced materials with unique properties. Design and conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, and interpret results to draw scientific conclusions. Develop and optimize synthesis and characterization techniques for new materials. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and product developers, to translate research findings into practical applications. Prepare detailed research reports, technical documentation, and scientific publications. Present research findings at internal meetings and external scientific conferences. Mentor and guide junior researchers and technical staff. Stay current with the latest advancements in materials science and related fields through literature review and networking. Manage laboratory equipment and ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices. Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio through invention disclosures and patent applications.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related field. Minimum of 7 years of post-doctoral or industrial research experience in materials science. Demonstrated expertise in synthesis, processing, and characterization of advanced materials (e.g., polymers, ceramics, composites, nanomaterials). Strong understanding of materials characterization techniques (e.g., SEM, TEM, XRD, spectroscopy, thermal analysis). Proven track record of successfully leading research projects and delivering impactful results. Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative approach to scientific challenges. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts. Experience with data analysis software and statistical methods. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative research team. Strong commitment to safety and ethical research practices.
