Senior Real Estate Appraiser

Our client, a reputable real estate valuation firm, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Real Estate Appraiser. This role requires a deep understanding of property valuation methodologies and market dynamics. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive property appraisals, preparing detailed valuation reports, and providing expert advice to clients, financial institutions, and legal professionals. This position involves significant on-site property visits and client interactions.

Key responsibilities include:Performing accurate and independent appraisals of various types of real estate, including residential, commercial, and industrial properties. Conducting thorough market research, including analyzing comparable sales, rental rates, and economic trends. Utilizing various valuation approaches, such as the sales comparison, cost, and income capitalization approaches. Preparing professional and defensible appraisal reports that comply with industry standards (e.g., RICS, USPAP) and client requirements. Meeting with clients, real estate agents, lenders, and property owners to gather necessary information. Reviewing property titles, surveys, zoning regulations, and other relevant documents. Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of local and national real estate markets, legislation, and appraisal best practices. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and industry professionals. Providing expert testimony in legal or arbitration proceedings when required. Mentoring junior appraisers and reviewing their work for quality assurance. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a related field. A recognized appraisal certification (e.g., MRICS, MAI, or equivalent) is mandatory. A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience as a qualified real estate appraiser is required. Proven experience in appraising complex and high-value properties is essential. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are crucial. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely, are mandatory. Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills are required for client interactions. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel for property inspections within the region are essential.
