Lead Curriculum Developer - Online Education

Our client, a prestigious educational institution in Kolkata, West Bengal, IN , is looking for an innovative and experienced Lead Curriculum Developer to spearhead the creation and enhancement of their online learning programs. This role is central to designing engaging, effective, and pedagogically sound digital courses that meet the needs of a diverse student population. You will lead a team of subject matter experts, instructional designers, and multimedia specialists in developing comprehensive curricula across various disciplines. Your responsibilities will include conceptualizing course structures, defining learning objectives, designing learning activities, and developing assessment strategies that align with modern educational standards and technologies. A deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM), and e-learning technologies is essential. You will ensure that all developed content is accessible, inclusive, and leverages the latest advancements in educational technology to create impactful learning experiences. Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and implementation of high-quality online curriculum for various academic programs. Manage a team of instructional designers, subject matter experts, and content creators. Develop clear and measurable learning objectives, outcomes, and assessment strategies. Design engaging learning activities, instructional materials, and multimedia content for online delivery. Ensure curriculum aligns with accreditation standards, industry best practices, and institutional goals. Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies effectively. Conduct needs assessments and evaluate existing curricula for opportunities for improvement. Provide training and support to faculty and staff on effective online teaching methodologies and curriculum implementation. Oversee the quality assurance and review process for all developed curriculum materials. Stay current with trends and innovations in online education, instructional design, and educational technology. Manage project timelines and resources for curriculum development initiatives. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and excellence in curriculum design. Qualifications: Master's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in curriculum development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role, preferably in online education. Proven experience in leading instructional design projects and teams. Expertise in adult learning theories and instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, Bloom's Taxonomy). Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle, Blackboard, or Canvas. Strong understanding of multimedia development principles and e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Superior written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in higher education or vocational training curriculum development is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
