Senior Mining Operations Superintendent

Our client, a major player in the global mining industry, is seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Senior Mining Operations Superintendent to oversee critical operations at their facility in Hyderabad, Telangana . This demanding role requires exceptional leadership, a deep understanding of mining processes, and a commitment to safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibility. You will be responsible for managing daily mining activities, optimizing production, leading a diverse workforce, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in mine management, strong technical skills, and the ability to drive operational excellence in a challenging environment.

Responsibilities: Direct and manage all aspects of daily mining operations, including exploration, extraction, processing, and haulage, to meet production targets and quality standards. Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, adhering to strict regulatory requirements. Oversee the efficient utilization of mining equipment and machinery, managing maintenance schedules and ensuring optimal operational performance. Lead, mentor, and manage a team of mine supervisors, engineers, geologists, and frontline workers, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Monitor and control operational costs, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains and implementing cost-saving measures without compromising safety or quality. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and national environmental regulations and company policies. Collaborate with geologists and engineers to optimize mine planning, resource estimation, and extraction strategies. Manage inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment necessary for mining operations. Conduct regular site inspections, performance evaluations, and risk assessments. Investigate any accidents or incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Prepare operational reports, production forecasts, and budget submissions for senior management. Foster strong relationships with local communities and regulatory bodies. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in mining operations, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or management role. Demonstrated expertise in open-pit or underground mining operations, depending on the mine type. Thorough knowledge of mining equipment, machinery, safety regulations (e.g., MSHA in relevant jurisdictions, DGMS in India), and environmental best practices. Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills. Proven ability to develop and manage operational budgets and control costs. Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills. Proficiency in mine planning software and standard office applications.
