Job Description

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their established team at their facility in **Mississauga, Ontario, CA**. This is a critical on-site role focused on optimizing manufacturing processes, improving efficiency, and ensuring the highest quality standards in production. You will play a key role in the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing systems and equipment. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in manufacturing engineering principles, hands-on experience with production environments, and a proven ability to solve complex technical challenges. You will collaborate closely with production staff, quality assurance, and R&D teams to drive operational excellence and support new product introductions. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and quality. Design, implement, and validate new manufacturing processes and production lines. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for manufacturing operations. Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions. Lead projects related to process optimization, automation, and technology upgrades. Collaborate with the R&D and engineering teams to ensure manufacturability of new products. Participate in the selection and procurement of new manufacturing equipment. Develop and conduct training programs for production personnel on new processes and equipment. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and environmental standards. Collect and analyze production data to monitor performance and identify trends. Manage continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on process optimization and production support. Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and automation technologies. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical skills. Proficiency with CAD software and other relevant engineering tools. Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Experience in a relevant industry sector (e.g., automotive, electronics, consumer goods) is a plus.
