Senior Logistics Coordinator

Our client, a leading logistics and supply chain management firm, is seeking a highly organized and experienced Senior Logistics Coordinator to join their dynamic team in Washington, D.C. . This is a critical role responsible for overseeing and optimizing the flow of goods from origin to destination, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate all aspects of domestic and international shipments, including planning, scheduling, and tracking. Liaise with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to negotiate rates and ensure compliance with regulations. Develop and implement logistics strategies to improve supply chain performance and reduce operational costs. Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment to meet demand. Resolve any logistical issues or disruptions promptly and effectively. Maintain accurate records of shipments, costs, and delivery times. Supervise and mentor junior logistics staff, providing guidance and support. Analyze logistics data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, sales, and customer service, to ensure seamless operations. Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes affecting the logistics sector. Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics coordination, supply chain management, or a similar role. Proven experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS). Strong understanding of international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and trade compliance. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
