Senior Logistics Coordinator

A leading logistics and supply chain management company is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Logistics Coordinator to manage and optimize the flow of goods for their operations in Nagpur, Maharashtra, IN . This role is crucial for ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation, warehousing, and distribution of materials. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in freight management, inventory control, and coordinating with carriers, suppliers, and customers. A strong understanding of supply chain best practices and proficiency in logistics software are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the logistics process, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management. Arrange and schedule shipments via various modes of transport (road, rail, air, sea) ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers and third-party logistics providers. Manage and maintain accurate inventory records, conducting regular audits and reconciliations. Track shipments from origin to destination, providing real-time updates to stakeholders and resolving any delays or issues promptly. Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and import/export paperwork. Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, safety standards, and import/export laws. Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers to ensure smooth and timely delivery of goods. Utilize logistics management software to optimize routes, track shipments, and manage warehouse operations. Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels. Train and mentor junior logistics staff, providing guidance and support.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in logistics coordination or supply chain management. Proven experience in managing domestic and international transportation, warehousing, and distribution. Strong negotiation skills with carriers and vendors. Proficiency in logistics management software (e.g., TMS, WMS) and ERP systems. Excellent understanding of import/export regulations and documentation. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaunt with diverse stakeholders. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of inventory management techniques and best practices.
