Our client, a prestigious forensic accounting firm dedicated to uncovering financial misconduct and providing expert litigation support, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Forensic Accountant to join their esteemed practice in Baltimore, Maryland . This role is crucial for conducting complex financial investigations, analyzing financial statements, and providing expert testimony in legal proceedings. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in accounting principles, exceptional analytical abilities, and extensive experience in forensic accounting methodologies. You will be responsible for leading investigations into fraud, embezzlement, asset tracing, and other financial irregularities. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, the ability to synthesize large amounts of financial data, and outstanding communication skills to articulate findings clearly and concisely to clients, legal counsel, and courts.

Responsibilities

Lead and conduct forensic accounting investigations into allegations of fraud, financial crime, and other irregularities. Analyze complex financial data, including accounting records, bank statements, and electronic data, to identify patterns and anomalies. Trace and quantify financial losses resulting from fraudulent activities. Assist in the quantification of damages in litigation matters. Prepare detailed and well-supported forensic accounting reports for clients and legal teams. Develop and execute data analytics strategies to uncover financial evidence. Assist in the discovery process, including the review of documents and deposition preparation. Provide expert witness testimony in legal proceedings, if required. Communicate findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to clients, attorneys, and other stakeholders. Maintain a high level of professional skepticism and ethical conduct throughout investigations. Mentor and train junior forensic accountants.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA and/or CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) designation is required. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in forensic accounting, fraud investigation, or litigation support. Proven experience in analyzing financial statements, identifying financial anomalies, and tracing financial transactions. Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS), auditing standards, and legal concepts relevant to financial investigations. Proficiency in forensic accounting software and data analysis tools. Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information effectively. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. High level of integrity, objectivity, and professional skepticism. Experience providing expert witness testimony is a significant plus.
