Senior Fleet Operations Manager

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Senior Fleet Operations Manager to lead and optimize their extensive vehicle fleet operations in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, IN . This pivotal role demands expertise in managing large fleets, ensuring operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for overseeing vehicle maintenance, driver management, route optimization, fuel management, and safety programs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of fleet management software, transportation logistics, and vehicle technologies. You will lead a dedicated team of fleet supervisors and drivers, fostering a culture of safety, performance, and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring a proactive approach to problem-solving and strategic planning. Responsibilities include: Developing and implementing comprehensive fleet management strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs. Overseeing all aspects of daily fleet operations, including dispatching, scheduling, and routing. Managing vehicle maintenance programs, ensuring all vehicles are in safe and operational condition. Implementing and enforcing driver safety policies and procedures, including training and performance monitoring. Managing fuel consumption and implementing strategies for cost reduction. Ensuring compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, licensing, and permits. Selecting, negotiating with, and managing relationships with vehicle suppliers and service providers. Implementing and utilizing fleet management software for tracking, reporting, and analysis. Analyzing fleet performance data and identifying areas for improvement. Managing fleet budgets and controlling expenditures. Leading, mentoring, and developing the fleet operations team. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 7 years of experience in fleet management, with significant experience managing large commercial fleets. Proven track record in cost reduction and operational efficiency improvements within fleet operations. Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, and diagnostics. Familiarity with fleet management software and telematics systems. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and diverse teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of Indian transportation laws and regulations. Experience with safety programs and compliance initiatives.
