Farm Manager - Sustainable Agriculture

Our client is looking for a dedicated and forward-thinking Farm Manager to oversee their operations in **Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh**. This position requires hands-on experience in modern agricultural practices, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and efficient resource management. The Farm Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all farming activities, including crop cultivation, pest and disease management, irrigation, harvesting, and post-harvest operations. You will manage a team of farm workers, ensuring productivity and adherence to safety protocols. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of agronomy, soil science, and crop protection, coupled with excellent leadership and organizational skills. Experience with organic farming methods, water conservation techniques, and modern farm machinery is highly desirable. You will also be involved in budgeting, record-keeping, and implementing innovative solutions to enhance farm yield and profitability while minimizing environmental impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement comprehensive farm management plans, including crop rotation, planting schedules, and land use strategies. Oversee daily farm operations, including soil preparation, seeding, fertilization, irrigation, and pest control. Manage and supervise farm laborers, assigning tasks and ensuring efficient workflow. Monitor crop health and growth, identifying and addressing any issues promptly. Implement sustainable farming practices to conserve soil, water, and biodiversity. Oversee the harvesting, grading, and storage of crops to maintain quality. Manage farm equipment and machinery, ensuring proper maintenance and operation. Maintain accurate records of farm activities, yields, expenses, and sales. Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Research and adopt new agricultural technologies and techniques to improve productivity and sustainability. Manage relationships with suppliers, distributors, and agricultural extension services. Control farm budget and optimize resource allocation for maximum profitability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in farm management or a related agricultural role. Proven knowledge of crop cultivation, soil management, and pest control techniques. Experience with sustainable or organic farming practices is a significant advantage. Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills. Proficiency in farm record-keeping and basic financial management. Familiarity with modern agricultural machinery and irrigation systems.
