Job Description

Our client is seeking a proactive and analytical Procurement Specialist with expertise in Strategic Sourcing to join their dynamic supply chain team in **Nagpur, Maharashtra, IN**. This role is instrumental in identifying cost-saving opportunities, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the efficient procurement of goods and services that align with the company's strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, a keen understanding of market dynamics, and a commitment to driving value.

Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential suppliers and assess market trends. Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies for key categories of spend. Lead the negotiation of contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favorable terms. Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluation, issue resolution, and ongoing communication. Develop and maintain a database of approved suppliers and associated contracts. Analyze spending patterns and identify opportunities for consolidation and cost reduction. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Oversee the Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes. Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards. Monitor supplier performance against contractual obligations and service level agreements. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks. Support the implementation of procurement technologies and systems. Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance. Assist in the development of departmental budgets and forecasts. Stay informed about industry best practices in procurement and supply chain management. Work closely with legal and finance departments on contract reviews and payment terms. Facilitate supplier diversity initiatives where applicable. Contribute to the continuous improvement of procurement processes. Manage inventory levels and optimize stock for critical materials. Provide training and guidance to junior procurement staff. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management. Proven experience in strategic sourcing and contract negotiation. Strong understanding of procurement best practices and market dynamics. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with procurement software (e.g., ERP systems, e-procurement tools). Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of quality standards and supplier certification processes is a plus. Relevant certifications such as CIPS or CPSM are an advantage. Experience with indirect procurement is beneficial. A proactive approach to identifying and implementing cost-saving measures.
