Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer

Our client, a leading telecommunications provider, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer to join their critical infrastructure team in Surat, Gujarat . This role is essential for ensuring the continuous availability, performance, and security of the company's extensive network infrastructure. As a NOC Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring network traffic, identifying and diagnosing network issues, and implementing timely resolutions to minimize downtime and impact on services. You will work with a wide range of networking technologies, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers. Your duties will involve proactively monitoring network performance using advanced tools, responding to alerts and alarms, troubleshooting connectivity problems, and escalating complex issues to senior engineers or relevant teams. You will also be involved in implementing network changes, conducting routine maintenance, and contributing to network documentation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and various network services. Experience with network monitoring software and hardware is crucial. Excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and strong communication skills are essential. You must be willing to work in a shift-based rotation, including nights and weekends, to provide 24/7 network coverage. This is an on-site position, requiring your presence in our Surat, Gujarat facility. Key Responsibilities:

Monitor network performance and availability using various NOC tools. Identify, diagnose, and resolve network incidents and outages in a timely manner. Respond to network alerts and alarms, escalating issues as needed. Perform routine network maintenance and configuration changes. Collaborate with other engineering teams to troubleshoot complex network problems. Document network configurations, procedures, and incident reports. Ensure network security by monitoring for and responding to potential threats. Participate in network upgrade and deployment activities. Contribute to the continuous improvement of NOC processes and tools. Provide shift handover and support to colleagues.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Proven experience working in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or similar network support role. Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, and routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP). Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix). Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, or other major networking hardware. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a 24/7 shift environment. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Relevant certifications such as CCNA, Network+ are highly desirable.
