Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Lead Warehouse Operations Manager to oversee and optimize all aspects of warehouse operations at their **Baltimore, Maryland, US** facility. This senior leadership role is critical to ensuring efficient inventory management, timely order fulfillment, and the overall effectiveness of the supply chain. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of warehouse best practices, lean principles, and WMS (Warehouse Management System) implementation. You will lead a large team of warehouse associates, supervisors, and leads, driving performance, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires strong leadership skills, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a strategic approach to logistics management.
Responsibilities: Manage all day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control. Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse layout, workflow, and resource allocation. Lead, train, and motivate a diverse team of warehouse staff to achieve operational goals. Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety awareness and best practices. Oversee inventory accuracy and implement measures to minimize shrinkage and discrepancies. Manage the efficient utilization of warehouse space and equipment. Implement and manage warehouse management systems (WMS) to enhance operational efficiency and data accuracy. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order fulfillment rate, inventory accuracy, on-time shipping, and labor productivity. Collaborate with transportation and procurement teams to ensure seamless supply chain integration. Develop and manage operational budgets, controlling costs while maintaining service levels. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement lean initiatives to drive efficiency. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching to team members. Manage vendor relationships related to warehouse operations, such as equipment suppliers and third-party logistics providers. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in warehouse or distribution center management. Proven experience in managing large teams and complex warehouse operations. In-depth knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and their implementation. Strong understanding of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics reporting. Experience with budget management and cost control. Ability to develop and implement operational strategies. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Forklift certification and experience with various material handling equipment.
