Fleet Operations Manager

Our client, a rapidly expanding logistics and delivery company, is seeking a highly organized and experienced Fleet Operations Manager to oversee their fleet operations in **Chandigarh, Chandigarh, IN**. This role is critical for ensuring the efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness of our transportation services. The Fleet Operations Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the fleet, including vehicle maintenance, driver management, route optimization, and compliance with transportation regulations. You will develop and implement strategies to improve fleet performance, reduce operational costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include scheduling and coordinating vehicle maintenance and repairs, ensuring all vehicles are compliant with safety standards and legal requirements. You will also manage driver schedules, conduct performance reviews, and provide ongoing training to ensure adherence to company policies and safe driving practices. The position requires developing and implementing efficient route planning to minimize transit times and fuel consumption. You will monitor fleet performance using telematics and other data analytics tools, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions. Building strong relationships with vendors for vehicle procurement, maintenance, and fuel is also a crucial part of the role. The Fleet Operations Manager will be responsible for budgeting and financial management related to fleet operations, including tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Proactive risk management and the development of contingency plans for operational disruptions are essential. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the daily operations of the company's vehicle fleet. Manage vehicle maintenance schedules, repairs, and preventative care programs. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and national transportation regulations. Recruit, train, and manage a team of drivers, including scheduling and performance management. Develop and implement efficient route planning and optimization strategies. Monitor fleet performance metrics and identify opportunities for improvement. Manage fuel consumption and implement fuel-saving initiatives. Control operational costs and manage the fleet budget effectively. Maintain relationships with vehicle suppliers, maintenance providers, and other third-party vendors. Implement safety programs and ensure a safe working environment for all fleet personnel. Investigate and resolve any operational issues or accidents. Utilize fleet management software and telematics for data analysis and reporting. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management or transportation operations. Proven experience in managing a diverse fleet of vehicles. Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in fleet management software and GPS tracking systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience with budget management and cost control. Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
