Our client, a leading chemical manufacturing company, is seeking a highly experienced Lead Process Chemical Engineer to join their team in **Delhi, Delhi, IN**. This role is pivotal in optimizing chemical processes, ensuring safety, efficiency, and product quality. The Lead Process Chemical Engineer will be responsible for process design, development, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of manufacturing operations. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, collaborating closely with R&D, production, and quality assurance departments to achieve company objectives. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and proven leadership experience in the chemical industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and optimization of chemical processes for new and existing products. Troubleshoot process issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to improve yield, efficiency, and safety. Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement necessary safety measures. Develop and manage process documentation, including P&IDs, SOPs, and batch records. Oversee pilot plant operations and scale-up of processes from lab to commercial production. Collaborate with R&D to translate laboratory findings into robust manufacturing processes. Monitor process performance metrics and implement improvements to meet production targets. Manage capital projects related to process modifications and equipment upgrades. Mentor and guide junior chemical engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company EHS policies. Evaluate new technologies and equipment for potential implementation. Work closely with production teams to ensure smooth and efficient plant operations. Develop and manage departmental budgets and resource allocation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in chemical process engineering, with a significant portion in a leadership role. Strong expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and statistical analysis tools. In-depth knowledge of unit operations, thermodynamics, and reaction kinetics. Proven experience in process design, scale-up, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with HAZOP, LOPA, and other process safety methodologies. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. Experience in regulatory compliance and quality management systems is a plus.
