Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategic agronomic plans for diverse crop production systems. Conduct soil testing, plant tissue analysis, and pest/disease surveys. Recommend and oversee the application of fertilizers, pesticides, and other crop inputs. Design and manage field research trials to evaluate new crop varieties, technologies, and management practices. Analyze crop performance data and provide actionable insights to optimize yields and quality. Monitor weather patterns and environmental conditions, adjusting strategies as needed. Provide expert advice on irrigation, drainage, and tillage practices. Manage and mentor a team of agronomy professionals and field staff. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainable farming practices. Develop and maintain strong relationships with growers, suppliers, and research institutions. Qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, or a related agricultural field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in applied agronomy and crop production. Strong knowledge of plant physiology, soil chemistry, entomology, and pathology. Experience with precision agriculture technologies and data analysis tools. Proven ability to manage field research and operational teams. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly. Familiarity with diverse crop types relevant to the region. Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) designation is highly desirable.
