Job Description
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Junior Data Scientist to join their innovative team. This internship offers an exceptional opportunity for a recent graduate or student to gain practical experience in a real-world data science environment. You will work under the guidance of senior data scientists, contributing to projects that involve data collection, cleaning, analysis, and the development of predictive models. Responsibilities
Assist in collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing large datasets from various sources. Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies. Support the development and implementation of statistical models and machine learning algorithms. Collaborate with senior data scientists to validate model performance and interpret results. Create visualizations and reports to communicate findings effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Contribute to the documentation of data processes, models, and findings. Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions on data-driven problem-solving. Learn and apply new data science techniques and tools under mentorship. Assist in A/B testing design and analysis. Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in data science and machine learning. Qualifications:
Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field. Solid understanding of statistical concepts and machine learning algorithms. Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science, such as Python (with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) or R. Familiarity with data manipulation and SQL. Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau) is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies. Ability to work effectively on-site in **Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario, CA**. Prior internship or project experience in data science is advantageous.
