Test Engineer Enterprise Applications

Role Overview:

As a Software Test Engineer at Paylocity, you will work with dedicated product teams to ensure that the company's products meet customers' needs. You will play a crucial role in improving overall quality and team velocity by creating automated testing plans and strategies, coaching software engineers, and solving complex issues. Key Responsibilities:

• Advocate for continuous improvement of the software development process
• Stay current with new technologies and apply them effectively
• Collaborate in a team environment and share innovative ideas
• Independently work on modules, complete tasks with high quality, and contribute to high velocity
• Recommend and implement improvements to core team processes
• Create test plans of medium complexity and oversee testing tasks from design to completion
• Identify and address testing gaps in the team's product
• Plan and implement automation strategies for the team
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to create thorough testing plans
• Perform exploratory testing to understand testing challenges
• Coach software engineers and Associate Software Test Engineers in creating automated tests
• Drive the team towards implementing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipeline
• Actively participate in sharing knowledge and discussions within the team

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 3+ years of experience in testing software
• Proficiency in an object-oriented language, preferably C#
• Familiarity with client-side web technologies and writing SQL queries
• Experience testing APIs and consumer-facing web applications
• Deep knowledge of software testing best practices in an agile environment
• Experience working with Salesforce.com Sales and Service Clouds
• Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery concepts
• Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to change
• Curiosity, commitment to tasks, and effective teamwork
• Ability to sit for extended periods and use computer and phone systems efficiently
