Reporter

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Reporter role based in Satara. The Reporter will identify and develop news stories, conduct interviews, gather information from multiple sources, and produce clear, accurate, and compelling written content. Day-to-day responsibilities include covering assigned beats or topics, attending events and press conferences, verifying facts, and meeting publishing deadlines. The role involves collaborating with editors and multimedia teams to enhance stories with photos, video, or audio where appropriate and adapting content for digital platforms. The Reporter is expected to maintain high ethical standards, follow editorial guidelines, and stay informed about current events and developments relevant to their coverage areas.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Reporting and News Writing skills, including the ability to develop story angles and produce accurate, engaging articles.
• Candidates should possess excellent Communication and Writing skills, with clear, concise, and audience-focused language.
• Candidates should possess Multimedia skills, such as basic photo, video, or audio capture and familiarity with digital publishing tools.
• Candidates should demonstrate strong research, fact-checking, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Candidates should be comfortable working on-site in Satara, meeting deadlines, and collaborating with editors and other team members.
• A degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in reporting, is highly beneficial.
• Knowledge of local issues and communities in and around Satara, and proficiency in relevant local languages alongside English, will be an advantage.
• Commitment to ethical, non-discriminatory reporting and adherence to journalistic standards is essential.
