Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Veterinary Nurse role based in McLean, VA. The Veterinary Nurse will assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and procedures, including preparing exam rooms, handling animals safely, and supporting patient assessments. Daily responsibilities include administering medications, vaccines, and fluids as directed, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with anesthesia and surgery. The role also involves performing basic laboratory tests, collecting samples, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring a clean, safe clinical environment. The Veterinary Nurse will provide client education on pet care, preventative health, and post-treatment instructions while working closely with the care team to deliver outstanding patient and client experiences.

Qualifications

• Strong Veterinary Nursing skills, including support for exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Demonstrated Animal Care and Pet Care experience, with safe handling, restraint, and compassionate patient care.
• Competence in Anesthesiology support, including monitoring patients before, during, and after anesthesia under veterinary guidance.
• Laboratory Skills such as sample collection, basic diagnostics, and accurate recording of test results.
• Relevant certification or licensure as a Veterinary Technician/Nurse (or eligibility), depending on state requirements.
• Ability to communicate clearly with clients and team members, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced clinical setting, including occasional handling of stressful or sensitive situations.
• Previous experience in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, or similar setting preferred.
