The team of experienced real estate professionals manage a diverse portfolio of industrial, office, retail, multifamily, seniors housing and self-storage properties, leveraging our institutional calibre investment platform, processes and operations.    The continued growth of Nicola Real Estate has led to the need for a Senior Accountant, Real Estate Finance to join our dynamic and growing team.   <h4>Purpose of the Role:</h4> This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team within the firm by playing a key role within our Real Estate Finance Team.  You will be responsible for various accounting functions within our development-focused limited partnership fund. You will provide insightful support to the Real Estate Finance Management Team and will look for opportunities to improve systems and processes.     This is an on-site role located in our Vancouver Real Estate office.   <h4>Core Responsibilities:</h4> <ul> <li>Responsible for preparing and completing the month-end close of property and fund level financials which roll up to the Value Add, Canadian, and U.S. Real Estate Limited Partnerships (“Funds”).  </li> <li>Perform detailed oversight and monthly NAV calculations of the Funds.   </li> <li>Review NAV inputs from various teams including the development, acquisition and asset management teams.   </li> <li>Preparing month-end close and financial reporting for various Real Estate corporate entities.   </li> <li>Preparing monthly and quarterly tax reporting, including GST filings.   </li> <li>Reviewing property level financials in conjunction with the Fund’s accounting manager.   </li> <li>Assisting with the audit process during interim and year-end.   </li> <li>Preparing analyses for cash management and forecasting.   </li> <li>Assisting with drafting various monthly and quarterly reports to internal and external stakeholders.   </li> <li>Build and maintain excellent working relationships with the Real Estate team, the larger Finance team, including the asset and property management teams and external stakeholders.   </li> </ul> <h4> Experience & Qualifications:</h4> <ul> <li>Accounting qualification – CPA or equivalent.   </li> <li>3-5 years of professional experience in accounting, ideally with audit experience.    </li> <li>Familiarity with Yardi software is preferred.   </li> <li>Intermediate or advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. </li> </ul> <h4>Compensation & Benefits Package:</h4> This position comes with a competitive base salary hiring range of $80,000-$100,000, dependent on experience, skills, qualifications and internal equity.  At Nicola Wealth, our people grow our business, delight our clients, and live our values every day.
