Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Permanent| Band 7, 36hrs/ 1 WTEt

The Hospital at Home Service within NHS Borders is expanding! We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team.

The Hospital at Home service is focused on working collaboratively with acute and community teams to provide secondary level care within the patient’s own home or care setting. The Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) will work as part of the Hospital at Home team providing clinical care to patients who would otherwise be in a hospital setting. This post is integral to ensuring safe, effective, high quality care delivery in the patient’s home environment.

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable ANP who would like to be part of a friendly and supportive team with an ethos of continuous improvement. The post holder will be a confident decision maker, be able to work without direct supervision and supervise registered & unregistered staff.

The post holder will liaise with several professionals/agencies daily, both internal and external, including GP practices, local authority teams and the voluntary sector. Along with helping towards continually developing a sustainable and appropriately skilled workforce with a reduction in dependency on conventional medical models of care provision.

The role requires you to have full UK NMC registration and a full UK driving licence and be flexible to work weekdays and weekends on a rotational basis to meet the needs of the service. Currently the service runs over 7 days, 0800-1800 daily.

For specific types of post, if you do not have the necessary eligibility to work in the UK, it might be possible (though not guaranteed) to secure sponsorship via a UK Skilled Worker/Health & Care Worker Visa. However, this is only possible if the employer is a licenced Sponsor, and if the post does not fall below the current minimum salary threshold or ‘going rate’.
