Job Description
The Role
We are looking for a Software Developer with strong experience using React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Node.js to join us onsite. You will work directly with the founders and team to ship production software.
You will primarily work on full-stack applications, from frontend to backend. You will move across the stack depending on the project, so you need to be comfortable writing clean React components one day and designing a Prisma schema or API routes the next.
While this is a collaborative environment, we value autonomy. We are looking for a developer who is ready to take ownership of features, make architectural decisions, and execute with precision.
Key Details
- Location: Uxbridge, Ontario (strictly on-site)
- Type: Full-time
- Pay: $60,000 - $80,000 CAD per year ($28.85–$38.50/hour)
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
About Modall
Modall is a full-service software development agency in Uxbridge, Ontario. We don't outsource. We don't cut corners. We design, build, and scale custom products 100% in-house.
We are a tight-knit team of 5 based in Uxbridge, Ontario. We work entirely on-site because we believe real collaboration happens in the room, not on Zoom. We move fast and maintain an incredibly high bar for design, engineering quality, and talent.
Our company partners with ambitious founders, NFL players, and major enterprises to build SaaS platforms, AI-driven applications, Web3 & blockchain solutions, mobile apps (React Native), and more.
At Modall, you won't be micromanaged or buried in bureaucracy. You will work directly with the founders and team, make architectural decisions, and see your code go into production for high-profile clients. If you want to do the best work of your career and grow alongside a team that actually cares, you belong here.
What You'll Do
- Build: Ship dynamic, responsive web applications using React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS. You will also write backend code in Node.js with Prisma and PostgreSQL, and have the opportunity to build mobile apps using React Native (experience preferred, but not required).
- Own: Manage individual project modules from start to finish, determining the best implementation approach across both frontend and backend.
- Collaborate: Work onsite with experienced developers to turn concepts into clean, production-ready code.
- Optimize: Make sure applications are performant, accessible, and cross-device compatible.
Who You Are
- You have 'The Eye': You know what good UI looks like and what good UX feels like. You can tell the difference between an interface that's functional and one that's great.
- You are 'High Agency': You don't need to be micro-managed. You hit a bug, you research the fix, you implement it. You see a gap in the product, you speak up and propose a solution.
- You own your work: You treat the features you ship like your own. You finish what you start, and you care about the final result.
- You are hungry to build: You want to work on real projects (AI, Web3, SaaS, mobile) and you are willing to put in the focused effort required to ship high-quality products.
Requirements
- Proven Experience: Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Next.js, with experience using Node.js and relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar).
- Version Control: Comfortable using GitHub (branching, merging, PRs, code reviews).
- Design to Code: Experience turning Figma designs into clean, production-quality code.
- Education: Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, OR equivalent advanced experience and portfolio.
- Location: Must be able to commute daily to Uxbridge, ON.
Tech Stack:
- Frontend: TypeScript, React, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, React Native
- Backend: Node.js, Prisma ORM, PostgreSQL
- Workflow: Github, Figma, Notion, Jira, Slack
Why Join Modall
- Impact: You won't be fixing bugs in legacy code. You will build new products for high-profile clients.
- Career growth: Build products from scratch across multiple industries. You will get exposure to the full product lifecycle, from strategy, ideation, and design, through to development, DevOps, QA, and post-launch iteration. You will have real opportunities to pick up new skills, work with new tools, and grow as an engineer.
- Ownership: Your ideas shape the product. We run small teams on purpose to maintain high quality standards. This means every developer has real influence on what gets built and how.
Perks
- We provide a Mac Mini, triple monitors, the latest developer tools (Claude, Codex, Cursor, etc.), and a top-tier ergonomic setup so you can build without friction.
- On-site gym access, free parking, and a casual dress code.
- Free snacks & coffee
Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM
- Strictly on-site in Uxbridge, ON
If you have an entrepreneurial mindset, thrive in a startup-style environment, and want to work alongside other developers to play a meaningful role in both client success and product innovation, this is the role for you.
