Job Description

Milltex is hiring a Merchandiser for MTX Stitches to serve as the link between our US operations team, internal merchandising, and our embroidery supplier network. You will run embroidery orders end-to-end on Threadline costing, sampling, production tracking, and dispatch while staying current on US buyer preferences and pricing decoration accurately. This role is primarily desk-based and remote; field visits are rare. Coordination is via Threadline, messaging apps, and calls.

What You'll Do

  • Own orders on Threadline: manage intake, costing, PO, sampling, production tracking, QC sign-off, and dispatch.
  • Cost and quote accurately: build decoration quotes based on stitch count, technique, thread color count, placement count, run size, and backing. Recommend chenille/appliqué vs. flat embroidery when appropriate and price accordingly.
  • Read the US market: stay current on trends, techniques, finishes, blanks, and price points; bring ideas to the team.
  • Technique expertise: advise on decoration approaches flat/direct embroidery, single-layer appliqué, double-layer (tackle twill) appliqué, 3D puff, chenille, patches (woven/PVC/leather/sublimated; sew-on/iron-on/velcro), and emerging techniques understanding cost, lead time, durability, and appearance tradeoffs.
  • Supplier coordination: brief suppliers and patch makers, negotiate timelines and pricing, and ensure adherence to specs. Build new supplier relationships as needed.
  • Sampling and approvals: coordinate digitizing, sew-outs, and pre-production samples; review supplier media and present to US decision-makers for approval.
  • Quality oversight (remote): use supplier-shared media and Threadline QC workflows to detect issues before shipment stitch density, registration, color match, backing, and hand feel; reject and rework items not meeting spec.
  • Communication: provide clear daily updates to the US team and be available during US Eastern Time business hours (roughly 6:00 PM3:00 AM PKT, MondayFriday).

Required

  • Bachelor's or Diploma in Textile, Fashion Merchandising, Apparel Manufacturing, or a related field from a recognized institute.
  • 02 years of experience; internships at export houses, embroidery units, or buying offices count.
  • Excellent written and spoken English daily communication with US clients and team members is essential.
  • Deep understanding of embroidery techniques and pricing, including flat/direct embroidery, single- and double-layer appliqué, 3D puff, chenille, and various patch types.
  • Ability to build costs from stitch count, thread colors, placement, technique, backing, and run size.
  • Pulse on the US apparel decoration market and trending techniques across streetwear, varsity/college, outdoor, and corporate categories.
  • Comfort working primarily on a laptop inside a web app and ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Based in Karachi with reliable internet, backup power, and a quiet remote setup.
  • Willing and able to work US Eastern Time business hours (approx. 6:00 PM3:00 AM PKT, MondayFriday).

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with digitizing software outputs (Wilcom, Pulse, or similar).
  • Hands-on exposure to multi-head embroidery machines (Tajima, Barudan, ZSK, SWF).
  • Knowledge of US apparel blanks (Gildan, Bella+Canvas, Next Level, Comfort Colors, Carhartt, etc.) and fabric effects on decoration.
  • Basic Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw skills for artwork review.
  • Prior experience working with US clients or buying offices.
