IT Informatica Developer-L2 (12 month contract)
Location: Burnaby, BC / Hybrid

General Description
The IT Informatica Developer (Level 2) is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing high-quality, sustainable Business Intelligence (BI) solutions. This role also provides Informatica expertise and guidance to support business operations and deliver data-driven solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
Experience And Role Accountabilities
- Minimum of ten (10) years of combined experience in data warehousing, dimensional data modeling, and ETL architecture
- At least seven (7) years of Informatica consulting experience on enterprise-level technology projects across areas such as:
- Informatica PowerCenter
- Informatica Administration
- Informatica Data Quality
- Oracle PL/SQL
- PostgreSQL
- Real-time processing
- Big Data technologies (e.g., Greenplum, Hadoop)
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience with Informatica PowerCenter (versions 9.x and 10.x)
- Minimum three (3) years of experience with Informatica Data Quality, including writing, debugging, and maintaining SQL, ETL processes, and shell scripts
- Minimum three (3) years of experience with SAP Business Objects (Crystal Reports, Web Intelligence, Design Studio)
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in production support environments
- Experience delivering at least five (5) full lifecycle BI implementations and two (2) Informatica technical upgrades (or equivalent)
Core Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and implement scalable BI solutions aligned with approved architectural standards
- Present technical designs to solution leads and development teams to ensure alignment with business requirements
- Gather and analyze business requirements through workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions
- Document key decisions, system relationships, and data dependencies
- Collaborate with business users during testing and acceptance phases; provide training and support
- Perform detailed source system and gap analysis to define data mappings and future-state solutions
- Continuously enhance Informatica solutions through performance improvements, innovation, and adoption of new technologies
- Plan testing strategies, oversee execution, and provide regular progress updates
- Provide ongoing technical guidance and promote best practices in BI and Informatica usage across teams
Education And Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Business & Process Knowledge
- Understanding of key enterprise business processes such as:
- Work management (asset/equipment management, planning, scheduling, resourcing)
- Design engineering
- Supply chain (contracts, procurement, inventory, accounts payable)
- Outage management in utility or similar industries
- Knowledge of change management practices, ITIL processes, and large-scale data environments
- Experience working with real-time data processing and very large datasets (e.g., billions of records)
- Ability to coordinate integration and configuration across multiple systems and teams
Technical Skills
Good working knowledge of:
- Workflow scheduling tools
- IT infrastructure
- Large ERP systems
Advanced Expertise In
- BI and data warehouse systems
- Informatica PowerCenter (Advanced Edition)
- Informatica Administration, Data Quality, B2B, and Big Data domains
- Performance tuning
- Oracle, SQL, PL/SQL (development, tuning, and database design)
Must-Have Requirements
- Advanced expertise in Informatica PowerCenter (10.x) and Informatica Data Quality
- Experience with Informatica Administration
- Strong understanding of data modeling (dimensional, 3NF, etc.)
- Proven experience designing and building data/information architectures for integrated reporting and analytics
- Self-starter with strong multitasking abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
