IT Business Analyst-L1 (9 month contract)
Location: Vancouver, BC / Hybrid

General Description
The Business Analyst Level 1 is accountable for gathering, documenting, and managing business requirements for small IT projects while producing high-quality documentation and providing ongoing support to IT teams, business stakeholders, and end users to help achieve organizational objectives.
Note: On medium or large projects, the Business Analyst Level 1 may be partnered with a more senior resource.
Experience And Role Accountabilities
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Business Analyst on small to medium technology-related projects in a complex enterprise environment or equivalent.
- Produce high-quality project documentation such as governance documents, process impact assessments, process maps, and process designs, and follow through with stakeholder reviews, approvals, and sign-offs to support successful project delivery.
- Liaise with internal and external teams/vendors on data migration and system interface activities to ensure dependencies are understood and requirements are accurately documented.

- Business Requirements
- Functional and Non-Functional Requirements
- Data Requirements
- Business Scenarios and Use Cases
- Requirements Traceability Matrices
- Functional Specifications
- User Interface Specifications
- Assist with testing activities, including the development of Test Plans, Test Scenarios/Scripts, and Test Reports.
- Provide ongoing clarification and support to user experience, development, training, and testing teams to ensure accurate interpretation of business requirements and process designs.
- Assist Project Managers with planning activities and support Change Management and Training Leads with communications, stakeholder analysis, training, and rollout activities.
- Support knowledge transfer and transition activities to sustainment teams.
- Document meeting outcomes and action items to facilitate timely completion of project deliverables.
Required
Education and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Good understanding of business processes and how technology solutions support business objectives.
- Excellent coordination, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Asset Qualifications
- Experience in public sector, utilities, or other large enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with project delivery methodologies and governance frameworks.
Work Environment
- Hybrid role with two (2) in-office days per week in Vancouver, BC.
- Initial 9-month contract.
Must-Have Skills
Core Tools & Platforms
- Hands-on experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4), including web and campaign performance analysis.
- Experience developing dashboards and reports using Looker Studio.
- Experience with Google Tag Manager for tracking implementation, QA, and troubleshooting.
- Experience working with app analytics and mobile measurement platforms, including Firebase, mobile engagement tracking, and attribution platforms.
Digital Analytics & Reporting
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in business analysis focused on digital analytics, reporting, dashboards, and performance measurement.
- Ability to analyze website, mobile application, and campaign performance data and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, validation, manipulation, and reporting.
- Experience monitoring and reporting on KPIs including traffic, engagement, conversions, retention, and campaign performance.
Domain Knowledge
- Strong understanding of digital marketing concepts including campaigns, customer journeys, audience engagement, attribution, and conversion tracking.
- Familiarity with web and mobile application tracking methodologies, tagging structures, and digital measurement best practices.
Education
- University degree in Commerce, Technology, Business, Marketing, Analytics, Digital Strategy, or a related discipline.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Additional Tools & Technologies
- Experience with Power BI.
- Experience with customer data platforms (CDPs).
- Experience with app analytics tools and mobile attribution platforms.
- Exposure to statistical modeling, forecasting, or advanced analytics techniques.
- Experience in the utilities industry or another regulated industry.
Process Improvement
- Experience identifying opportunities to improve tracking, tagging, dashboarding, and reporting processes.
- Ability to support higher-complexity analytics initiatives under guidance.
- Familiarity with QA processes related to analytics implementations and campaign tracking validation.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Digital Analytics Marketing Advisor, the Data Analyst supports digital performance measurement and reporting initiatives by providing web and mobile application insights, dashboard development, reporting, tracking enhancements, and process improvements of low to moderate complexity, value, and risk.

- Strong risk identification and escalation skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with marketing, analytics, development, and external partner teams.
