Exciting Opportunity at MSK: At MSK, Nursing is a driving force behind exceptional patient care, innovation, and discovery. The Program Manager for Safe Patient Handling and Mobility (SPHM) partners closely with nursing and interdisciplinary leaders to advance organization-wide initiatives that strengthen practice, operations, and strategic priorities across the organization.
 

Role Overview: 
•    Collaborates with facility leadership to manage, evaluate and maintain MSK’s institutional SPHM program meeting NY state regulatory requirements. 
•    Provides leadership to and facilitates MSK’s SPHM Committee. 
•    Lead the planning, implementation, and sustainability of SPHM programmatic initiatives. 
•    Ensure the SPHM program aligns with departmental strategies, organizational priorities, and best practices.
•    Provides continuous evaluation of program performance measures including collection and analysis of injury data, direct and indirect costs, and lost time. 
•    Identify risks, issues, and barriers, recommending solutions to support timely and successful execution
•    Collaborates with various facility stakeholders during the design, construction or renovation of clinical care areas ensuring SPHM and ergonomic considerations are addressed. 
•    Organize and mentor SPHM champions in the management of unit-based patient handling practices.  
•    Collaborate with clinical educators from various departments to develop and maintain SPHM education and training according to NYS regulatory requirement and best practices.  
•    Support strategic planning related to operations, services, research, and resource needs
•    Develop business plans, market analyses, and proposals to support new and evolving initiatives
 

Key Qualifications: 
•    Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy and applicable NYS licensure required
•    Minimum of five years of clinical experience
•    Four to seven years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare operations or program management
•    Master’s degree in Nursing, Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy preferred 
•    Must have knowledge of SPHM practices and regulatory requirements.

•    Strong program and project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
•    Knowledge of systems thinking, change management strategies and quality improvement 
•    Strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to assess program effectiveness and outcomes utilizing various data sources. 
•    Clear and influential communication skills across clinical, operational, and administrative team members
•    Collaborative leadership approach with the ability to work independently and across organizational levels
•    Commitment to advancing delivery of high-quality, evidenced based and innovative care within a complex healthcare environment

Additional information:
•    Schedule: Monday through Friday, working hours: flexed between 8am to 8pm
•    Location: 1275 York Avenue, Main Campus
•    Reports To:  Director of Nursing Professional Development

Pay Range: $151,300.00 - $249,700.00

 

FSLA Status: Exempt
