Who We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a motivated Property Manager Intern to support our property management team in the day-to-day operations of affordable housing communities in Washington, D.C. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in the field of affordable housing and learn about HUD, LIHTC, and Section 8 programs. An MCN Build Property Manager Intern is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and passionate about serving communities through high-quality, affordable housing.
What You’ll Do
Our new Property Manager Intern will assist with property operations and tenant relations, gaining exposure to compliance procedures, administrative functions, and maintenance coordination. A day in the life of a Property Manager Intern involves supporting the property management team in resident communication, organizing documents, assisting with routine inspections, and participating in resident engagement activities. You will also observe how leasing, rent collection, and compliance processes work. This role is ideal for someone interested in housing, community development, or public service, and who enjoys working with people in a team-oriented environment.
What You Bring To The Table
- Currently pursuing a degree in Property Management, Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field
- Organized, with great attention to detail
- Interest in affordable housing and community development
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with residents, staff, vendors, and community partners

- Salary Range: $18.50, commensurate with degree level.
