Position Summary: As part of the Desautels Faculty of Management’s communications team, the Communications Associate will play a key role in promoting academic programs to prospective students—particularly through engaging video and social media content. This role supports the development and delivery of communications services aligned with the University’s mission and strategic goals, including digital and social media posts, website content, news dissemination, briefing materials, graphic design, multimedia production, and photography. The Associate will also help build community engagement within Desautels through digital tools and an omnichannel approach. Primary Responsibilities: Produce engaging videos and social media campaigns that highlight the McGill Desautels student experience, program strengths, and career outcomes for masters, undergraduate and doctoral programs. Collaborate with the Desautels digital team to adapt and publish content across platforms (web, display screens, newsletters, social media). Write, review, and edit content including video scripts/storyboards, news articles, brochure and website copy, and social media posts, supporting Desautels recruitment goals and global reach priorities. Gather, compile, and synthesize background materials to inform meetings, presentations, and communications. Organize and support Desautels events and special initiatives as needed. Serve as backup for managing display screens and newsletter deployment when required. Photography and videography for events when needed. Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities Bachelor’s degree an asset. Experience in communications, digital content, or higher‑education marketing is highly valued. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to produce clear, engaging content across formats, including social media, web, video scripts, and briefing materials. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of community members. Creative, well organized, and self‑motivated, with experience managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Familiarity with social media platforms required; experience using analytics to inform content strategy an asset. Proficiency with Microsoft Office expected.
