Responsibilities
- Greet clients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression and smooth check-in process
- Manage appointment scheduling, cancellations, and follow-up communications with clarity and professionalism
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff
- Administer medications, injections, or treatments as directed by veterinarians following aseptic techniques
- Handle a variety of animals including dogs, cats with confidence in animal handling and physiology
- Maintain accurate veterinary records, update patient charts, and document procedures using veterinary terminology
- Assist veterinarians with animal husbandry duties including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring patient recovery
- Ensure the clinic environment remains clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards including aseptic techniques
- Provide pet care advice to clients regarding nutrition, medication administration, and general animal well-being
Experience
- Experience and proficient in using AVIMARK
- Proven kennel experience with a strong understanding of animal husbandry practices
- Previous veterinary clinic experience as a veterinary assistant or technician is highly preferred
- Hands-on veterinary critical care experience demonstrating ability to handle emergency situations confidently
- Skilled in animal restraint techniques for various species including dogs, cats, and horses (equine experience is a plus)
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and laboratory procedures
- Experience administering medications via different routes (oral, injectable) with attention to aseptic technique
- Familiarity with pet care routines including feeding schedules, medication management, and basic animal physiology concepts
- Strong background in animal handling techniques such as dog handling or catheterization procedures
