As a Senior Build Engineer, you will lead initiatives to modernize our build infrastructure, enable distributed and scalable build workflows, and drive improvements in developer productivity. You will partner closely with development teams to deliver robust, maintainable solutions across platforms while advancing adoption of modern build technologies and practices.

- Drive Build Infrastructure Modernization
- Evaluate modern build systems and lead the design, and implementation of scalable, future-ready solutions
- Transition legacy workflows to modern, distributed build ecosystem
- Build Automation & Developer Productivity
- Design and develop automation tools to streamline build and development workflows
- Improve reliability, reproducibility, and efficiency across a large and diverse codebase
- Analyze and improve build performance, resource utilization, and system scalability
- Build observability metrics to measure the improvements
- Toolchain & Compiler Enablement
- Lead efforts to port and refactor code for compatibility with modern compilers and evolving C++ standards
- Enable adoption of new toolchains across multiple platforms
- Expand and maintain support for Linux, Windows, and macOS environments
- Technical Leadership & Collaboration
- Act as a subject matter expert for build systems and infrastructure
- Partner with engineering teams to diagnose and resolve complex build and toolchain issues
- Establish and promote best practices for build engineering across the organization
- Code Quality & Reviews
- Conduct in-depth code and infrastructure reviews, ensuring maintainability and adherence to best practices
- Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing
- Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning
- Document systems, processes, and best practices for long-term sustainability
- Strong experience working with large-scale, multi-language codebases
- Expertise in modern distributed build systems (e.g., Bazel, CMake, Make, or similar) and remote execution frameworks on different platforms
- Proficiency in C++ and one or more programming/scripting languages (Go, Python, Bash, etc.)
- Solid understanding of compiler toolchains and experience with compiler-related workflows
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across build systems, compiler toolchains, and cross-platform environments
Must Have:
- Strong System Design Skills
- Knowledge of CI/CD systems and large-scale build pipelines
- Experience applying AI-assisted tools, with the ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs
Nice to Have
- Familiarity and knowledge of package managers of C++ like Conan
- A bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 3 years of professional work experience, or a PhD degree, or equivalent experience) is required.
