Position: Production Supervisor – Afternoon Shift
Reports to: Production Manager
Location: 2485 Speers Road, Oakville
Summary
Production Supervisor – Afternoon Shift
Mancor Industries is a world-class precision manufacturer of metal components and sub-assemblies utilizing metal cutting, forming, machining, welding, and assembly. Through state-of-the-art fabrication and manufacturing techniques, lean principles, and a team-oriented culture, we deliver high-value, cost-effective solutions to our strategic partners.
We are currently seeking an experienced and people-focused Production Supervisor – Afternoon Shift to join our growing team. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role is responsible for leading a safe, engaged, and high-performing workforce while ensuring production, quality, and operational objectives are achieved.
This position will play a critical role in developing and leading a newly established team of Fitters/Tackers and Welders. The successful candidate will be a strong coach and mentor who can build team capability, drive accountability, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and create an environment where employees can develop and succeed.
Shift: Monday to Friday 2 pm to midnight.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Leadership
· Champion a proactive safety culture where safety is the first priority and every employee is accountable for maintaining a safe work environment.
· Lead by example in promoting safe work practices, hazard identification, risk mitigation, and compliance with all health and safety policies and procedures.
· Conduct regular safety observations, workplace inspections, and safety discussions with team members.
· Investigate incidents, injuries, near misses, and safety concerns, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
· Ensure employees are properly trained, equipped, and supported to perform their work safely.
· Foster a culture of shared responsibility with the goal of achieving zero injuries.
Team Leadership, Coaching & Development
· Lead, develop, and support a newly formed team of Fitters/Tackers and Welders, establishing clear expectations, standards, and accountability.
· Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to employees.
· Build employee engagement through open communication, recognition, trust, and collaboration.
· Identify skill gaps and create training and development plans to improve team capability and versatility.
· Address performance concerns promptly and constructively while fostering a positive and respectful workplace culture.
· Promote teamwork and collaboration across production, maintenance, quality, and support functions.
Production & Operational Excellence
· Lead production activities to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and productivity targets are consistently achieved.
· Monitor workflow, staffing levels, and production performance, making adjustments as required to meet customer commitments.
· Drive accountability for workmanship, quality standards, and operational efficiency.
· Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, safety, and employee effectiveness.
· Collaborate with Purchasing and Production Planning to support material forecasting, inventory control, and just-in-time delivery requirements.
· Coordinate the storage, allocation, and availability of materials to support uninterrupted production.
· Ensure equipment reliability through preventive maintenance activities and coordination of repairs when required.
· Partner with Maintenance to investigate equipment issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment that supports safety and operational excellence.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within a continuous flow production facility.
· Proven ability to lead, coach, motivate, and develop production teams.
· Experience building and developing high-performing teams, including employee training, engagement, and performance management.
· Strong commitment to workplace safety and experience promoting a positive safety culture.
· Experience supervising welding, fabrication, fitter/tacker, or related manufacturing operations is strongly preferred.
· Lean Manufacturing experience with a demonstrated focus on continuous improvement.
· Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.
· Mechanical aptitude with experience collaborating with maintenance teams, troubleshooting equipment issues, and implementing corrective actions.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
· Welding blueprint reading and interpretation skills would be considered an asset.
Salary and Benefits
· Salary: CAD 85,000 – CAD 90,000 Annually (negotiable Depending on Experience)
