Job Description

As a GCP-qualified cloud engineer working for a large global investment bank, your primary responsibility will be to assist in the FIC (fixed income and currencies) cloud migrations under Project Cirrus. Your knowledge of Financial Services/FIC would be beneficial, but the essential skills required include expertise in building, migrating, and deploying applications to GCP, Terraform module coding, Google infrastructure, and familiarity with cloud-native services such as GCE, GKE, CloudSQL/Postgres, logging, and monitoring. Additionally, proficiency in written and spoken English is crucial as you will be expected to contribute to knowledge transfer within the existing development and support teams.

  • **DevOps Strategy & Leadership**
  • Define and implement best DevOps practices to enhance deployment speed, system reliability, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to streamline workflows.
  • Mentor and guide team members in DevOps methodologies and tools.
  • **Cloud Infrastructure Management (GCP & Terraform)**
  • Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Terraform.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for scalable and automated cloud deployments.
  • Optimize cloud resources for cost, security, and performance.
  • **CI/CD & Automation (GitHub Actions & Helm)**
  • Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
  • Automate application deployments using Helm charts for Kubernetes environments.
  • Ensure zero-downtime deployments and rollback mechanisms.
  • **Containerization & Kubernetes**
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications in Kubernetes clusters.
  • Implement Kubernetes networking, security, and scaling best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize Kubernetes workloads for high availability.
  • **Java Application Deployment & Optimization**
  • Support and optimize the deployment of Java-based applications in cloud-native environments.
  • Enhance monitoring and logging for Java applications in Kubernetes.
  • Implement performance tuning strategies for Java applications in production.
  • **Security, Monitoring & Compliance**
  • Implement DevSecOps practices to ensure security at every stage of the pipeline.
  • Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting using New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana.
  • Enforce compliance with security standards and industry best practices.
  • **Troubleshooting & Incident Management**
  • Lead incident response efforts and perform root cause analysis.
  • Automate infrastructure monitoring and proactive issue resolution.
  • Work closely with SRE and support teams to enhance system resilience.
  • **AI models understanding and Usage**
  • Proficiency in using gemini and github copilot.
  • Understanding of Agentic AI is considered a good-to-have skill.
  • *Qualifications Required:**
  • 9 years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and CI/CD automation.
  • Strong expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (GKE, IAM, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform for IaC and cloud automation.
  • Proficiency in Kubernetes (Helm, Ingress, RBAC, Operators, etc.).
  • Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD workflows.
  • Experience in scripting Python and Bash.
  • Knowledge of Java applications and their deployment in cloud-native environments.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and performance optimization in cloud and Kubernetes.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, scripting (Bash/Python), and automation skills.
