JOB SUMMARY

The National Sales Manager, Equipment is responsible for driving national sales performance and achieving revenue objectives set by senior leadership. This role leads and develops a field-based sales team, ensuring consistent execution across prospecting, pipeline management, and closing activities. With a strong focus on both leadership and execution, the position plays a key role in strengthening sales capability, driving new business development, and supporting the organization’s continued growth in the Canadian market.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Sales Leadership & Execution

  • Lead the national equipment sales team to achieve revenue, margin, and growth targets.
  • Maintain a structured sales process, including forecasting discipline, pipeline management, and opportunity qualification.
  • Conduct regular pipeline reviews to ensure accuracy, progression, and funnel health.
  • Support the closing of strategic and high-value opportunities in collaboration with the sales team.

Field Coaching & Team Development

  • Spend time in the field coaching Regional Sales Managers through joint customer engagements.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and development plans to strengthen sales execution.
  • Promote a high-performance culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement.

Prospecting & Market Development

  • Drive consistent prospecting and account development to ensure a strong pipeline.
  • Identify market trends, competitive activity, and growth opportunities across regions and applications.

Strategic Planning & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with senior leadership on sales planning, budgeting, and growth strategy.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure aligned customer solutions.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, trade shows, and key customer meetings.

Performance Management & Operations

  • Monitor KPIs and support performance management, talent development, and corrective actions.
  • Operate within approved budgets and contribute to broader organizational initiatives.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales experience within capital equipment, packaging, or a related industrial sector.
  • Strong industry or product knowledge gained through progressive experience in a relevant market.
  • Prior leadership experience in a sales environment is considered a strong asset.
  • Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on, field-based execution.
  • Demonstrated success in coaching and developing high-performing sales teams.
  • Experience implementing structured sales processes and maintaining strong pipeline discipline.
  • Ability to lead by example and drive performance through active engagement in the field.
  • Availability to travel up to 60% of the time.
