Job Description
As a Cost Accountant at our company, your role involves reviewing the item master to identify anomalies related to cost and inventory classification. You will be responsible for performing inventory analysis, including aging of inventory and following up with teams to identify non-moving inventory. Additionally, you will conduct variance analysis by comparing actual vs budget figures and reporting deviations to management. Your duties also include monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing activities, balance sheet reconciliations, and performing inventory roll forwards every month. You will identify and resolve internal control issues in inventory management, conduct system transactions for scrap adjustments, and support in developing cost records and cost sheets. Furthermore, you will review new assembly costs, assign labor and overhead rates, collaborate with the IT team to enhance processes, and coordinate periodic inventory counts while reporting variances efficiently.
Qualifications required for this role include being a CMA with at least 3 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in the automotive or power industry. Basic awareness of GST laws related to purchase, sale, and transfers is desirable. Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, and Microsoft applications is also preferred.
