Who We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Project Director to lead and govern complex environmental programs in the Mining sector. Ideal candidates will have a proven history of delivering compliant and repeatable projects, particularly in regulated environments. This role is perfect for a professional who excels at managing risk and ensuring top-tier project delivery for mining operations.

As a Senior Project Director, you will serve as a key advisor to clients, navigating the intersection of technical execution, regulatory adherence, and governance. Your deep understanding of mining laws, consent orders, and environmental standards will be critical in embedding quality assurance and regulatory compliance into daily operations.

In this role, you will:

• Oversee project planning and execution, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, resource allocation, risks, and communication strategies.
• Conduct monthly project health assessments to verify regulatory compliance, adherence to schedules, technical milestones, and subcontractor outputs.
• Maintain detailed documentation for all project phases, ensuring full traceability and an effective audit trail for deliverables.
• Define and actively monitor communication and reporting plans to satisfy all obligations punctually.
• Govern vendors and subcontractors ensuring their qualifications and compliance align with project deliverables.
• Verify all outputs meet quality requirements prior to public dissemination, ensuring thorough review and approvals are documented.
• Collaborate with the Program Manager on project escalations, decision authority, and alignment with overarching governance standards.
• Champion a culture of safety, compliance, and continual improvement throughout project workflows.

What You Will Bring to Our Team:

• Proven leadership in managing complex, high-risk projects in regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of project governance, assurance, and control measures.
• Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, managing vendors, and ensuring stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to effectively plan, report, and communicate with a diverse audience.
• Proficiency in PMBOK-aligned project management tools and techniques.
• Familiarity with data management techniques and analytics supporting compliance and project performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or similar field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification is highly desirable.
• 10+ years of experience in environmental or mining project delivery, emphasizing leadership in high-stakes, regulator-driven environments.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel for client meetings is essential.
• Experience with high-volume projects emphasizing efficiency through standardization and automation.
• Knowledge of analytics and data management practices for compliance support.

This role requires pre-employment medical and drug screenings, as permitted by law, and employment is contingent upon successfully passing these screenings.

Salary Range: $134,775 - $168,460, depending on experience and location.
