Patient Advocate – Oncology (Remote, Independent Contractor)

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Advocate with oncology experience to support patients throughout their care journey. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping others navigate complex medical processes, communicate effectively with providers, and ensure patients feel supported every step of the way.

This is a remote, independent contractor position, offering flexibility in scheduling based on patient needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and care teams
• Assist patients in understanding diagnoses, treatment plans, and next steps
• Coordinate care and help navigate appointments, referrals, and authorizations
• Provide emotional support and guidance throughout the oncology care journey
• Advocate for patient needs and ensure timely communication
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation

Qualifications

• Prior experience in oncology (clinical, administrative, or advocacy role) required
• Strong understanding of oncology terminology, treatments, and workflows
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with medical records, insurance processes, or care coordination preferred
